MANUFACTURE OF CADMIUM NEGATIVE ELECTRODE PLATE FOR ALKALINE STORAGE BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a cadmium negative electrode plate for an alkaline storage battery as being capable of improving the conductive of the electrode plate to increase the use factor thereof and restricting the failing of active material particles from the electrode plate. SOLUTION: 0.25-0.3 wt.% disodium hydrogenphosphate (hydration preventing agent) to cadmium oxide is put in water solution containing 0.4-0.8 wt.% methylcellulose (binding agent) to cadmium oxide and completely dissolved to make solution. Cadmium oxide powder is put in the solution and kneaded to make active material paste. The active material paste is filled in a collector to make a non-dried electrode plate. The active material paste for the non-dried electrode plate is dried at a drying temperature of 120-150 deg.C. In this way, a binding film 2 to bind active material particles 1... is provided with openings 2a in size and number, enough to put the active material particles 1... in mutual contact and restrict the falling of the active material particles 1... from the electrode plate.
