PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent the temperature of an original platen glass from rising by deciding time required for cooling the original platen glass according to the turning-on time of the original illumination lamp of an image read means and setting a stand-by time until a next image forming action is started based on the cooling time. SOLUTION: When a continuous reading copying mode is selected by an operation part 25 and a recording paper is supplied to a resist roller, a DF motor 5d is driven and an original is carried on the original platen glass at a fixed speed. Then, a traveling-read copying action is started. In parallel with this action, an on-signal outputted from an image tip detection sensor 5h is received by a counter 26 so as to start the counting action of a timer. Then, time until the sensor 5h is turned off is measured. The measured on-time of the sensor 5h is fetched in a CPU 21 as the turning-on time of the original illumination lamp 3a. Based on relation between the turning-on time and the required cooling time, the stand-by time before the next copying action is started is decided. |
