PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the frictional force on the surface of a composite material and provide strength bearable for a practical use by covering at least the surface of an oxide superconductor with a metal material, setting the average surface roughness on at least the surface section of the metal material within a specific range, and using Ag or Ag group alloy for the metal material. SOLUTION: A surface is covered with a metal material having the average surface roughness of 0.5-20μm at a surface section, e.g. Ag or Ag group alloy. The metal material is the internal oxidation type Ag group alloy, and it contains at least one kind selected from metal elements of Cd, Hf, Mg, Mn, Ni, Sn, Ti, Zr in the range of 0.01-5 at.%. The frictional force and strength are increased, and collected oxide superconducting composite materials are prevented from being shifted mutually or loosened. The surface average roughness at the surface section is large with no mechanical machining applied, the manufacturing process is simplified, and the manufacturing cost can be reduced.
