PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the stereoscopic microscope inexpensive and easy to design without any fall of a body image even when a roof prism is used by directing a projection optical axis to inside the optical axes of respective objectives. SOLUTION: Body images projected by the right and left objectives 1 which are arranged at an inward angleθare made incident on the roof prism 2 which deflect incident light byαdeg. and projects it. The projection light from the roof prism 2 which is arranged at a tilt angleγinwardly to the objective optical axes respectively is projected at a tilt angleγ' (approximately equal toγ) to the center axis of the roof prism in the opposite direction from the tilt of the incident light to form erect right and left images 3. The optical axes forming the images 3 are nearly parallel to each other. Further, an arrow 4 carved in a body surface in the depth direction is projected as arrows which are parallel to each other on the surfaces of the images 3. Thus, the right and left images are formed having their tilt corrected, so the right and left images are never disordered.
