PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pick-up device with improved shock resistance against a shock in a direction at right angle to either direction of a focusing direction and a tracking direction. SOLUTION: An optical pickup device is provided with a main guide shaft 10a and a sub-guide shaft 10b for guiding in the tracking direction an optical block 9 fixedly holding a semiconductor laser 2 and a biaxial actuator 6, and a guide shaft fixing member 11a for retaining the main guide shaft. The optical pickup device is further constituted of the guide shaft fixing members 11a brought into contact with the ends of the main guide shaft 10a through abutments 16 oppositely disposed at both edges, and an elastic member 12 for urging both ends of the main guide shaft 10a at their opposite edge for retaining the abutments 16 at the opposite ends of the main guide shaft 10a. |
