PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To aim at safety of a storage battery as well as setting its capacity to a high level by providing porous separators for holding electrolyte as well as determining intervals between positive and negative electrodes and decreasing the porosity of this separator from the positive electrode side to negative electrode side. SOLUTION: An irregularity state is provided on the pole surface of a negative electrode 1 and the porosity of a separator 2 is reduced as closer to the negative electrode 1. Namely, the inside diameter of an air hole 3 is reduced as approaching to the negative electrode 1. Therefore, the resistance near to the surface of the negative electrode 1 side of the separator 2 becomes larger than the resistance along the irregularity shaped interval between the separator 2 and the negative electrode 1. Thereby, owing to the movement of positive electric charge from the positive electrode toward the negative electrode 1 inside of the air hole, the surface on the negative electrode 1 side comes in a rate limiting step so that the electric current distribution is uniformalized without any local overcharging and the charging capacity can be increased safely. This device acts usefully as a part of a portable electronic apparatus. |
