The element is to be fitted to the underframe of the machine tool or of a table. The end in contact with the ground supports itself on a composite structure, for the damping of vibrations, made up of superimposed plates in an elastomer material. It consists of a first upper plate (1) solid with the underframe, the plate having on its lower face a cut-out zone (6) in the form of a spherical dome. A second lower plate (7) is designed to come in contact with the ground, via the composite structure, and has on its upper face, a cutout zone in the form of a spherical dome similar to that in the upper plate (1). A spherical trunnion (11) is placed between the two plates (1,7) so that it lodges in the two spherical domes (6,9). Springs (12) are placed between the two plates to prevent their separation.
