PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high capacity secondary battery excellent in its charging/ discharging characteristics, particularly in high rate discharging efficiency by being composed of a positive pole made of lithium transition metal compound oxide, a negative pole made of a negative pole material capable of occluding/ discharging lithium and a non-aqueous electrolyte and by including dispersive substance of silver or silver lithium alloy with its particle diameter of primary particle included in the black mixture layer of an electrode below a specific value. SOLUTION: The particle diameter of a primary particle of the silver or silver lithium alloy included in the black mixture layer of an electrode is required to be less than 1 μm, preferably less than 0.5 μm. The content of silver or silver lithium alloy particle included the electrode black mixture layer of the negative electrode is 0.1 to 10 wt.%, desirably 0.5 to 5 wt.%, and the specific surface area of the particle is desirably 50 to 80 m<2> /g. The silver particle is satisfactory with its purity more than 99% and as a silver lithium alloy, crystalline alloy or non-crystalline alloy represented by equations Lix Ag (0<x<=1), Lix Ag3 (0<x<=10) is used. |
