PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method which detects stain, defect, a wrong character, etc., for a printed matter by comparing it with a reference design signal for each corresponding pixel that is preliminarily inputted. SOLUTION: (1) An inspection sample image is stored in reference memory (S1). (2) An inspection area and non-inspection area are set in mask memory that has an address corresponding to the reference memory (S2). (3) The image of the printed matter to be inspected is stored in an image memory (S3). (4) The recorded information of the image memory is positionally corrected (S4). (5) A pixel that corresponds to non-inspection area that is set to the mask memory is ignored among defective candidate pixels which are extracted as a result of comparing with a reference memory signal even if defect is detected (S5). (6) Only when the number of pixels of difference points in the inspection area is larger than a set threshold, a different image is shown and decided as a broke (S6). |
