PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of backing up files with minimum equipment and time, by adding a self backup function to an HDD. SOLUTION: The HDD becomes an initiator itself only at the time of setting a backup mode by providing a switch 2 for setting the backup mode and adding the bus control function of an HD bus to a microprogram stored in a ROM 5. Also, by adding a self copying function to the program, file backup is executed to the connected other HDD to be a target automatically at the time of setting the backup mode. Thus, just by connecting the other HDD for backup to the HDD set to the backup mode through the HD bus and supplying power, the file backup is easily made possible in a short time. |
