<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a voltage nonlinear resistor having a small large-current region limiting voltage ratio and a high varistor voltage. SOLUTION: This resistor is composed of a sintered body containing zinc oxide as a main component, at least one or more kinds of rear-earth elements of which at least one kind is selected from among Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Y, Er, Tm, Yb, and Lu, and Bi and Sb. The spacing dn (Å) which is obtained from precipitated particles formed in or on the grain boundaries of zinc oxide particles, are respectively adjusted in the ranges 2.85Å<=-d1<=2.91Å, 1.83Å<=d2<=1.89Å, 1.77Å<=d3<=1.82Å, 1.56Å<=d4<=1.61Å, and 1.54Åd5<=1.60Å.</p> |
