Flue gases are treated by solidifying in a film on a refrigerated surface, after which the film is recovered, liquified and disposed of. Gases for treatment (2) are cooled as they pass through a series of tubes (1) to the solidification chamber (4). Liquid and solids entrained by the gas condense as a solid film (S) on a refrigerated surface (8) in the top of the chamber. Pieces of the film are recovered in a liquefaction chamber (7) beneath the refrigerated surface. |
