PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery which provides high voltage and high energy density and has good charging/discharging characteristics, by composing the negative electrode of oxide of silicon which contains lithium, electron conductive powdery carbon, and resin binding agent, using oxide of transition metals as positive electrode active material, and using glass fiber as a separator. SOLUTION: The battery is composed of a negative electrode which consists of oxide of silicon or silicate which contains lithium as active material, electron conductive powdery carbon, and resin binding agent, a positive electrode whose active material is metallic oxide which contains transition metals as its element, and a separator which uses glass fiber material. As low grade oxide which contains lithium, LixSiOy (where, x >=0.2>y>0) is used. The compound is produced by storing lithium ions into SiOy with electrochemical reaction between SiOy (where, 2>y>0) and lithium or lithium-containing material. |
