PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal element capable of obtaining a wide visual field angle characteristic without using a phase film. SOLUTION: The phase compensation of a transmitted light is made to be performed, by applying a uniaxial orientation processing to at least one side of oriented films 7, 8 to be respectively formed one pair of wiring substrates 1A, 1B holding liquid crystal 4 and, also, by forming a color filter 11 on one side of the one pair of the wiring substrates 1A, 1B and, besides, by forming a phase compensating film 12 to which a uniaxial orientation processing negative to the uniaxial orientation processing of the oriented films 7, 8 is applied in between the color filter 11 and a translucent substrate 2 of the wiring substrate 1B on which the color filter 11 is formed. |
