PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the positional deviation of the leading edge of an image formed on a sheet from occurring caused by the deviation of a reading position due to the positional deviation when an optical system can not be stopped at a specified position, with a simple means. SOLUTION: The optical system 20 is moved in a left direction from a right side by a driving motor 51 first, and output pulses from a rotary encoder 52 are counted from the point of time when a position sensor 27 is turned on until it is stopped. At such a time, the error of a stopping position is obtained by comparison with the number of output pulses from the encoder 52 being reference corresponding to a distance D to an exposure point 8a from a sensor 27 where the optical system 20 is stopped, and the number of output pulses from the rotary encoder 55 of a driving motor 18 for an original is corrected in accordance with a distance A where the original 1 is carried to the exposure point 8a from an original detecting sensor 54 based on the error, then the start of carrying the sheet is controlled by taking the number of corrected pulses as reference. |
