The blood clot trap (1) in a blood vessel (3) has multiple flexible straight arms (4) which define a filter. In a rest position, the arms are each rectilinear and extend approximately relatively parallel and parallel to each of the generatrices of a cylinder of revolution with a longitudinal axis (L), on the axis of the filter. In an active position, each arm forms an Omega shape in a plane extending radially to the longitudinal axis of the filter.
