<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need of a dedicated line for the transmission of maintenance information by providing a data transmission part for inserting the maintenance information from a maintenance information processing means in the overhead period of multiple frames and sending it out and a data reception part for separating reception data into ATM cells and the maintenance information and supplying the maintenance information to the maintenance information processing means. SOLUTION: Interface circuits 10A and 10B perform the transfer processing of two opposing devices A and B for constituting a redundant system, mainly function for the transfer of control information and user main information and also function for the transfer of the maintenance information transferred by maintenance information processing circuits 40A and 40B. Thus, a period capable of inserting the plural ATM cells is turned to the multiple frames, the transfer of the maintenance information is made possible, the control information, the user main information and the maintenance information are transferred by the same signal line connecting the devices A and B and the equipment amount of the signal lines of the entire ATM switching device is minimized.</p> |
