The arrangement identifies domestic animals by implanting a miniature transponder which has a stored number under their skin and then reading the number externally. The transponder consists of a memory circuit and ferrite aerial within a capsule 10 mm long and 1.9 mm wide. The implant is read by a coil (3) and receiver (2) which are incorporated into the back of a glove (1). The receiver which has a screen (5) is also able to retransmit (4) to a local terminal is detachable from the glove with connections (25,26) to the coil. |
