PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative image recording material capable of forming a printing plate directly from digital data and shorting a developing time without impairing film strength incorporating a specified polymer, an acid-cross- likable compound, a light or heat acid-generator, an infrared absorber, and a low-molecular compound having a specified sulfonamide group. SOLUTION: This recording material contains the polymer having structural unit represented by formula I, the compound cross-linkable by an acid, the acid generator by light or heat, the infrared absorber, and the lower molecular compound having a sulfonamide groups represented by formula II, and in formula I and II, X<1> is an alkaline group or alkali-soluble group; Ar<1> is an aromatic hydrocarbon group; Y<1> is an N-R<3> group or a C or S atom; L<1> is a simple bond or an ester bond or a hydrocarbon group optionally having its bond; L<2> is a hydrocarbon group; R<1> is an H atom or a methyl group; R<2> is a hydrocarbon group; R<3> is an H atom or a hydrocarbon group; R<24> is a hydrocarbon group; and R<25> is an H atom or a hydrocarbon group. |
