摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect proximity field light having a polarization component with good efficiency by integrally forming projecting parts for scattering the proximity field light generated near the surface of a recording medium and photodiode on a supporting section and disposing analyzers in contact with the photodiode between the projecting parts and the photodiode. SOLUTION: The proximity field light formed on the surface of the recording medium is converted to propagation light by a scattering body 62 and, thereafter, this light falls onto the analyzers 61 consisting of the films provided with gratings having grooves of the width shorter than the wavelength of the proximity field light and the intervals of the grooves. Of the propagation light, only the polarization component along the transmission direction of the polarizing light of the grating films is transmitted through the analyzers 61. This light is detected by the photodiode 63. The grating films are integrally formable on the surface of the photodiode 63. The plural analyzers varying in the polarization directions and photodiode are provided to detect differences and to improve S/N. Further, the embodiment of a high-speed response is made by building a differential amplifier onto the supporting substrate 6.
