MPEG2-TS MULTIPLEXING METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate multiplexed jitter of plural programs and to reduce re-synchronization time for selection and revision of a program at a receiver side. SOLUTION: MPEG2 coders 11-1n convert respective input programs 1-n into MPEG2-TS data D11-D1n synchronously with a common PCR from a PCR generating section 22 and transmit the converted data but no PCR data are transmitted. A multiplexer section 21 multiplexes the common PCR with the MPEG2-TS data D11-D1n in a form of inserting the PCR to a PCR data position of the MPEG2-TS data D11-D1n and provides an output of the data to a transmission line. A decoder 3 demultiplexes a transport stream(TS) signal in a program selected from multiplexed data MUXD1 and extracts the PCR inserted in the TS signal and applies PLL processing to the PCR to decode and recover the selected program.
