PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a developer from leaking by providing an elastic sheet for blocking an empty space between a lid and an image carrier, which is on the upstream side from the developing area of a developer carrier, and providing an elastic seal member for blocking empty spaces at both ends of a developing device by being firmly pressed to image non-formation areas on both the ends. SOLUTION: By setting the developing area E where the periphery of the photoreceptor drum 10 and the periphery of the developing sleeve 23 face each other to a specific gap, the front end of a developer leak prevention means 40 fixed to the front end of the lid 22 is firmly pressed to the peripheries of the photoreceptor drum 10 and developing sleeve 23 and held between them. The front end of an elastic sheet 41 forming the upper layer of the developer leak prevention means 40 firmly pressed to an image formation area of the photoreceptor drum 10 which is upstream from the developing area E, and its low-friction sheet 43 forming a lower layer slides over the image non-formation areas on both ends of the developing sleeve 23. The elastic seal member 42 forming an intermediate layer is elasticity compressed by being firmly pressed to and held between the image non-formation areas on the peripheries of the photoreceptor drum 10 and developing sleeve 23. |
