A rubber composition characterized by comprising 100 parts by weight of at least one rubber component selected from among natural rubbers and synthetic rubbers, and 0.05 to 20 parts by weight of at least one substituted hydrazide compound selected from the compounds of general formulae (I) to (IV), and pneumatic tires produced therefrom. In said formulae A is a member of the group consisting of substituted and unsubsituted aromatic groups, substituted and unsubstituted hydantoin rings, and saturated and unsaturated linear hydrocarbons each having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, Y is hydrogen, amino, alkyl having 1 to 18 carbon atoms cycloalkyl, akenyl, aromatic, pyridyl or hydrazino; and R1 to R11 are each hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl or aryl.
