<p>A control device (60) useful for adjusting the position, velocity, or acceleration of an apparatus is provided. The control device (60) includes a shaped integral magnet (14) having outer walls of a desired curvature. Radially disposed about the outer walls are one or more magnetic sensors (24). Movement of the magnet (14) changes the magnetic flux passing through the sensors (24), generating a unique transfer function output signal useful to control the apparatus. By varying the curvature of the outer walls, the transfer function voltage curve is tailored for specific applications.</p> |
