<p>The invention concerns a method for making a ductile shaped three-dimensional object comprising the following steps: first, heating a thermoplastic textile base (10); then, placing said textile base in a mould including a force plug (16) matching the outlines of the three-dimensional object to be produced; next, under the effect of pressure, pressing the hot textile base against said force plug (16); finally, after cooling, removing the resulting three-dimensional object. The invention is characterised in that: the textile base (10) is a warp and weft fabric with drawing ability of at least 20 % in the two main directions; the yarns constituting the fabric are thermoplastic yarns with continuous filaments having a drawing ability of at least 20 %; the fabric (10) is stretched in a frame before being heated so as to have in its plane an identical tension in all directions; and finally, this fabric is heated at a temperature slightly higher than the yarn softening point.</p> |
