The system includes a movable body installed between a sprocket and a cam shaft. The movable body slides along axial direction of cam shaft to convert rotary motion of sprocket. Oil chambers are formed on spark advance side and slow turn side. The movable body slides depending upon spark advance and relative pressure of slow turn side oil chamber.A hydraulic circuit supplies and exhausts pressurised oil to both the oil chambers through oil paths (24,25) depending upon system running condition. An electromagnetic control valve (22) switches and controls each oil path and drain paths (26,27) of the hydraulic circuit.
