An IrDA modulation/demodulation integrated circuit device modulates and demodulates signals by using the IrDA system of the SIR standard. The integrated circuit device is provided with a CRC block which adds an FCS field to data composed of A, C, and I fields by performing FCS calculation on the data, a transparent control block which controls the passage of the data outputted from the CRC block when the data are transmitted, and a flag block which adds a BOF flag to the head of the data passed through the passage control block and an EOF flag to the end of the data. The integrated circuit device is also provided with a flag block which removes the BOF and EOF flags from demodulated signals, a transparent control block which controls the passage of the data outputted from the flag block when the block receives the data, and a CRC block which checks the occurrence of a transmission error by using the value of the FCS field. |
