The hollow profile body section e.g. for door reinforcement, bumper support etc. is made of folded metal sheet. The internal space is divided into two or more spaces (2a, 2b) by an internal bulkhead (3) across the middle of the profile. One end of the bulkhead is secured in the weld seam (4) of the profile while the other end is spot welded to the interior of the profile. The internal bulkhead is part of the same metal sheet and is produced by folding over the sheet in the weld seam. The free end of the bulkhead is flanged and is secured to the inside of the profile by welding or riveting.
