Torsion elastic clutch for combustion engine

The clutch has a central primary, driving section (1) with an array of radial springs (3) which connect to a number of inertial masses (4) on the inside of the outer, secondary driven section (8). The springs have sliding connections at both ends and provide a centrifugal action which also drives the inertial masses into contact with the secondary section. The loose fitting of the springs provides a set amount of clutch elasticity for a smooth engagement. The inertial masses form a ring and are coated on the outside with a friction surface. The inside ring of the secondary section is also fitted with a friction layer. The springs are packs of leaf springs.
