The spout is mounted to a sink through a hole (2) in the sink, using a mounting. A base section extends through the hole and has two supply fittings (10,12) at its bottom. The base has two parallel supply passages (17,18) each communicating between an inlet and a fitting. A hole extends obliquely through the base section and passes between the passages without intersecting them. The hole (19) slidably receives a discharge lift rod (21) which also extends through the sink hole.
