<p>A regenerative signal of an ADV head preceding a recording head has its error corrected by an ECC decoder, then has its compression coding cancelled by a compression decoder, and is inputted to a selector. A regenerative signal of a CNF head for reproducing recorded data immediately after recording is supplied to the selector via the ECC decoder and the compression decoder. As another input of the ECC decoder, a by-pass signal from an ECC encoder on the recording side is supplied. The ECC decoder writes the two inputs into different areas of a memory, and then selectively reads out and supplies one of the written inputs to the selector. The selector is switched from the output of the ADV head to the by-pass signal at an IN-point, and preview is enabled by an image which is compression-coded and then decoded.</p> |
