A unit for processing meat products, especially boiled ham, with hot steam and mechanical pressure, includes a pressing container and base wall, carrying portions of meat layered into the pressing chamber. A removable cover and casing wall are provided. Between the meat portions in each layer, partition walls are inserted. With more than one layer, there are intermediate walls. The casing wall and partitions have perforations, connecting such that hot steam can flow through, during the heat treatment. The pressing container has a pressing system, operating perpendicularly to the inserted layers of meat portions.
