<p>A security lock arrangement for a door type structure includes a latch (14, 34) extending between the movable door (12) and the fixed door jamb (18). A magnet (36) is contained within a magnet receiving cavity (38) located within the latch. A reed switch (30) is positioned within a switch receiving cavity (28) located adjacent to the latch member receiving cavity (24) located in the door jamb. When the magnet is located within the latch member receiving cavity after displacement of the latch to secure the door in a closed position within the door jamb, the reed switch is activated. When the magnet is moved out of switch operating relationship with respect to the reed switch, which occurs prior to the door being opened, the change in the magnetic flux causes the reed switch to generate an information signal which indicates that an attempt has been made to open the door.</p> |
