The ring has a transponder for tracking a competition carrier pigeon. The transponder is mounted in a transponder holder (10) on the ring (12). The transponder holder is additionally fixed through a receiver on the ring. The receiver is an adjustable groove-spring-arrangement with a rear cut groove (14) and a spring (16) fitting spring. The receiver can be formed as a swallow tail section groove (14) and a correspondingly shaped spring.
