The workpiece (2) is placed on a holder (8) and secured against axial displacement. The working tool is then axially introduced into the bore of the workpiece. Axial placement of holder element (15) on the workpiece is in such a way that the holder element occupies a neutral position. The tensioning force exerted by the holder element on the workpiece is generated by the weight of holder element. Several identical workpieces may be placed one above the other with touching contact.
