Railway track acoustic barrier wall

The acoustic barrier, for mounting alongside a railway track, is a low noise barrier wall (5) of rubber or plastics. The inner side (6), towards the track, is at an angle ( alpha ) and the outer side (7) is at another angle ( beta ) pitched towards the centre axis (X) of the track (1). The angle ( beta ) for the outer side is larger than the angle ( alpha ) for the inner side. The profiled structure of the inner side (6) is a system of lips (8), pitched at an angle ( psi ) to the horizontal (Y) of the track base (4). A lip (9) joins the sides at the top, angled towards the track (1) at an upwards angle ( delta ) in relation to the track vertical (X). The barrier wall (5) has an inner hollow zone (10) along the line of the track (1). Preferably the barrier wall (5) is of ethylene propylene diene mixed polymerisate (EPDM), styrene butadiene rubber (SBR), butadiene rubber (BR) or similar materials.
