[Also in Division E1] A concrete window frame 1 is cast between a mould 1 and a core 5 both of which are made of a flexible material, preferably rubber. In operation a pane 2, to be embedded in the frame, is located in the mould upon an upstanding rib 17, the space 13 below the pane being evacuated through hole 8. A hollow core 5 is then placed over the pane as shown and the space 15 above the pane is evacuated through hole 11. Concrete is then cast between the mould and the core to form the frame and to embed the projecting edge 16 of the pane therein; the vacuum in spaces 13 and 15 being subsequently released and the mould disassembled to facilitate removal of the finished article. A double-glazed window may be made by substituting two panes separated by a suitable fillet (see Fig. 2, not shown) for the single pane.
