Method for analysing micro-satellite loci comprises: (a) isolating genomic DNA from human biological material; (b) amplifying five different micro-satellite loci using five different primer pairs, where the loci include two mononucleotide repeat loci, one or two dinucleotide repeat loci of class 2a, one or two dinucleotide repeat loci of class 2b and optionally a pentanucleotide repeat locus; and (c) determining the size of the amplification products.
