Ink ribbon for thermal sublimation printing, process for its manufacture and use of it

Colour ribbon for thermal sublimation printing, with a base and colour coat of sublimable dye dispersed in a polymeric binder, also has a top coat of water-soluble cellulose ether (I) on the colour layer. Also claimed are (a) a method of producing the ribbon and (b) its use in printing on a receptive sheet with a layer of resin having high affinity for the dye.
