The pump or engine contains several rotating pistons that move backwards and forwards in an axial direction, linked to a stationary valve plate (40) that contains curved suction slots (S,D). The slots are separated by a bridging section (SD,DS) extending between the downstream side of the suction slot and the upstream side of the outlet slot. A curved passage (42) with a non-uniform cross-section is formed in the bridging section, forcing liquid passing through it to first of all travel towards the downstream side of the suction slot and then towards and into the upstream side of the outlet slot. |
