A curable coating composition resistant to impact-abrasion induced damage comprising A) a polymeric or oligomeric component comprising aliphatic ester, or aliphatic ether groups having thereon a plurality of reactive functionalities, and having a reactive functionality between 2 and 5 and an equivalent weight of between 150 and 750, and B) a compound comprising a plurality of groups that are reactive with the reactive functionality on component (A). Also included are methods for obtaining the coating composition and a coated article having thereon a coating composition as described.
