PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber compsn. for tire sidewalls which is excellent in strength properties, fatigue resistance, and low fuel consumption by compounding an unsatd. olefin copolymer formed from ethylene, an arom. vinyl compd., a nonconjugated diene, and if necessary anα-olefin with a diene rubber. SOLUTION: This compsn. contains an unsatd. olefin copolymer and a diene rubber. The olefin copolymer produced from ethylene (A), an arom. vinyl compd. (B) represented by the formula (R<1> to R<3> are each H or 1-8C alkyl; and n is 0-5), a nonconjugated diene (C), and if necessary a 3-20Cα-olefin (D), has a molar ratio of structural unit derived from monomer A to that derived from monomer D of (100:0)-(40:60) and a molar ratio of the sum of structural units derived from monomers A and D to that derived from monomer B of (98:2)-(60:40), and has an intrinsic viscosity [η] (135 deg.C, in decalin) of 1.0-6.0 dl/g and an iodine value of 10-50. |
