PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a DNA sequence coding for mouse ZP3 protein, useful for the production of a contraceptive vaccine, etc., containing a polypeptide exhibiting epitope to the bonding of an antibody inhibiting the fertilization of ovum with sperm and free from side effects. SOLUTION: This gene codes for mouse ZP3 protein and has a sequence expressed by the formula, etc. It is preferable to produce mouse ZP3 protein, etc., by culturing a recombinant cell containing a DNA segment coding for the mouse ZP3 or ZP2 protein and a part of human ZP3 protein. The remaining 46 nucleic acid residues which are not expressed in the cDNA clone can be defined by measuring the nucleic acid sequence of two cDNBA coding for ZP3 and using a genom clone of recently separated mouse ZP3. |
