PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a trisazo compd. which has a high solubility and gives a black recording liq. which is stable even in a long storage, gives an image with a high setting density, and is excellent in resistances to water and light by hydrolyzing a disazo compd., i.e., an intermediate, and subjecting the resultant hydrolyzate to coupling or diazotizing. SOLUTION: This compd. is a trisazo compd. represented by formula I [D is a mono- or disulfonated 8-hydroxy-1-naphthyl group; A is a group represented by formula II or III (R<1> and R<2> are each H, amino, hydroxyl, carboxyl, etc.; R<3> is H, 1-4C alkyl, or 1-4C alkoxy; and R<4> is H, sulfo, or phospho); B is a group represented by formula IV (R<5> to R<7> are each H, hydroxyl, amino, carboxyl, 1-4C alkoxycarbonyl, 1-4C alkyl, etc.); and m is 0 or 1] or its lithium salt, sodium salt, or ammonium salt represented by formula V (R<8> to R<11> are each H, 1-4C alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, or 1-4C hydroxyethoxyalkyl). |
