PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink having optimized various characteristics such as water resistance and fouling resistance and maintaining stability against solution. SOLUTION: This thermal jet ink for thermal ink jet printing comprises about 1-50 wt.% vehicle comprising one or more organic solvent, 0.01-20 wt.% one or more water-soluble surfactant or an amphipathic polymer (cation, anion or nonionic), about 1-20 wt.% one or more partially and a water-soluble coloring agent partially chemically treated, so stable that the flocculation can be evaded and having functional groups for providing water resistance in a deionized water, and water. A partially chemically modified macromolecular chromophore(MMC) is preferably used as the water-soluble coloring agent. |
