CATALYST FOR LIQUEFACTION OF COAL AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a catalyst and provide a manufacturing method therefor having coal liquefaction activity, particularly excellent catalytic activity in liquefaction activity for rich light-components. SOLUTION: This catalyst for liquefaction of coal comprises a mixture obtained by finely wet-grinding iron-containing solids consisting essentially of one or more kinds of iron sulfides and iron oxides in the presence of coal and is manufactured so that the means particle size of the coal before pulverized is larger than 50μm and an oxygen content in the coal is 20 wt.% more. The iron-containing solids (in tank 1) and the coal (tank 2) meeting the above conditions are wet-fine-ground by a pulverizer 5 as a slurry state.
