PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a permeability coefficient of an interceptive wall to a desirable level by building the interceptive wall to a pollution-object region with material consisting essentially of bentonite and blast furnace granulated slag fine powder having a specific surface area of a specified value or more. SOLUTION: For instance, when an interceptive wall 2 is built by surrounding circumference of a disposal field of waste 1, material consisting essentially of bentonite and blast furnace granulated slag fine powder having a specific surface area of 6,000 cm<2> /g or more is used. The blast furnace granulated slag fine powder has a chemical composition analogous to the C class of blast furnace cement. For instance, when the blast furnace granulated slag fine powder is used as a hardener for sodium bentonite, a value of the permeability coefficient becomes extremely low with days, reaching at a level capable of intercepting heavy metals and organic compounds sufficiently. |
