PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a push-button type writing utensil excellent in the certainty (reliability) of a push-button function and its workability. SOLUTION: On the inner surface part of a clip 6, an engaging part for disengageably engaging with the engaging claw 8 of a push-button part 4 is provided. At the same time, a cam part 10 having an extending and retracting guiding means consisting of a first guided part to a sixth guide part 10-1-10-6 for stepwise guidingly transferring the engaging claw 8 by means of a push- button operation, the elastic restoring force of an elastic arm piece 9 and a return spring in a advancing range from the retreated position P of the pen point of an ink storage pie 2 to its engaging part and a retreating range from the engaging part to the retreated position P so as to draw a series of cam loci corresponding to the extending and retracting action of the pen point of the ink storage pipe 2 to and from the tip opening of a shaft tune 1 is integrally equipped.
