PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the amount of wear accurately by calculating the rotation angular velocity of the cutter head of a tunnel boring machine and the rotation angular velocity of a disk cutter, and the mounting diameter and the depth of cut in the natural ground. SOLUTION: The hub 1a of multiple disk cutters 1 mounted on the front face of a cutter head is borne on a fixed shaft 2 through bearings 4 in a rotatable manner. A rotation detector 7 for the disk cutters 1 is provided on the circumference of the fixed shaft 2 between the bearings 4, the rotation angular velocity is conveyed to a computer 9 through a cable 8 and displayed on a display 10. When the main body of a shield is advanced into the ground while rotating the cutter head, the edges of the disk cutters 1 cut into a cutting face and excavate it. A difference in rotation angular velocity occurs between the contact section of the sides of the edges and the surface of the natural ground and the edge section and produces slipping. The diameter of the disk cutters 1 is obtained from excavation distance, cutter head revolution speed, rotation angular velocity and the mounting diameter of the disk cutters 1 of the cutter head. |
