PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high quality ink jet recording sheet for oil ink in which blurring or striking through of an image due to aging is improved for an oil ink employing an oil soluble dye as a coloring matter. SOLUTION: A barrier layer composed of a resin, which is not stained by an oil soluble dye, is provided between a support and an ink receiving layer. The resin which is not stained by an oil soluble dye is a hydrophilic thermoplastic resin and polyvinyl alcohol or a modified matter thereof. The ink receiving layer is composed of a hydrophibic thermoplastic resin having specified density and containing a pigment.
